Hi everyone ,hope your all well

I’m Frank Arthur Mendis Karunaratne, also known as Frank Arthur, and I’ve been thinking about what kind of world we could build if we genuinely focused on equity, education, opportunity, safety, and making sure resources are shared properly.

This is an idea I’d like to put forward in the spirit of the 1 United Party a vision of people working together across communities and countries to build something better.

I’d like to see a world where education is free and accessible to everyone. When children finish secondary education, their books and useful materials could be collected and stored locally for future generations. The same principle could apply to toys, furniture, clothes, food and other useful items, so things people no longer need can be reused by someone who does.

I’d also like to see one educational board with common standards to simplify examinations, grading and qualifications, helping ensure people aren't disadvantaged simply because they come from a different area or educational background.

Then there’s safety.

I believe prevention is better than cure. We shouldn't wait until someone has been seriously harmed before taking action. Properly regulated teams could carry out spontaneous safeguarding checks where there are genuine concerns about domestic abuse or the safety of children and vulnerable people. Similar specialist teams could tackle serious problems involving drugs and illegal weapons.

These teams would need strict legal oversight, proper evidence requirements, independent accountability and body cameras whenever they carry out their duties, protecting both the public and officers.

Prevention should also apply to serious crime. Making the law and the consequences of crimes clear to the public could help deter people from committing them.Crimes such as murder, rape and child sexual abuse should carry severe consequences, while prevention should also involve education, early intervention and support for vulnerable people.

I’d like to see public water and sanitation stations throughout communities, providing drinking water, handwashing and basic sanitation free of charge.

For employment, each major industry could have a representative governing board setting fair standards for wages, working conditions, financial transparency, equity and workers’ rights. The aim would be to reduce exploitation, harassment and discrimination while allowing businesses to innovate and succeed.

I’d also like to explore one universal currency with a stable, transparent exchange system, with safeguards to prevent the creation of money from unfairly undermining people's savings or wages.

For serious crime, society must protect people while taking justice seriously. For child sexual abuse and rape, there should be extremely severe penalties, strong victim protection and measures to prevent reoffending, always following due process and a very high standard of evidence.

For murder, I believe the death penalty could remain an option in jurisdictions that choose to have it, but only with exceptionally strict safeguards and after a final conviction.

I also believe prisons should become genuine rehabilitation centres wherever possible providing education, skills, addiction support and opportunities for people to improve themselves and contribute to society where safe.

After sixteen, young people who aren't going to university or further education should have meaningful routes into apprenticeships, training, skilled work or education.

For unemployed adults, there could be voluntary or structured pathways into construction, public works, emergency services or military-style training, with fair pay, safeguards and alternatives where necessary.

The bigger idea is simple:

Stop wasting resources. Stop wasting people's potential. Make education accessible. Reuse what we already have. Make work fairer. Protect children and vulnerable people. Prevent crime wherever possible. Make the consequences of serious crime clear. Give people opportunities to improve themselves. And create systems that are simple, transparent and accountable.

This is what I believe the 1 United Party could stand for: bringing people together rather than keeping them divided, and finding practical ways to improve life for everyone.

I know no single person has all the answers, and I don't expect everyone to agree with every idea.

But if you believe we can build a fairer, safer and more united world, let's work together to make it a reality.

I’m frank Arthur Mendis Karunaratne, also known as Frank Arthur.

One people. One world. One united future.

Thank you.
