This is a story all about how my life got flipped and turned upside down
And I’d like to take a minute so sit right there
I’ll tell you how I ended up in this goddamn wheelchair

So it’s 19 91 in a village in notts
Living with my mum I love her lots
Crazy big family no need to worry
Had no dad but that’s a different story

Back in school when I was just a young youth,
Age eight years old diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth
All my friends jumping and running around
Meanwhile I’m faceplanting the ground

I wasn’t bothered Tried to jump too but I barely left the spot,
Still had fun though… just fell over a lot.
All was good never been pessimistic
Just wore leg splints ands used a walking stick

Years went by and life was sweet,
Bit wobbly on my legs but still on my feet.
Thought I’d keep cruising like that for a while,
Bit clumsy maybe, but doing it with style.

Then 2010 came driving my car,
Just a normal day not going too far.
But life hit shuffle in the blink of an eye,
Next thing I know the road went bye bye.

Crash happened quick, whole world went off plot
Doctors and nurses saying serious words. I was shocked

When it all settled they made it quite clear,
Things would be different from that point here.
Haven’t walked since, yeah that part’s true,
But check out these wheels — they’re a serious upgrade too.

People say “wow, that must be tough,”
I say “nah mate… parking’s easier enough.”
Still cracking jokes, still living with flair,
Just doing my laps in a high-speed wheelchair.
